We Need to Talk
Remember, during a disaster what’s good for you is good for your pet, so get ready for them today. Think about what they would need from you in an evacuation, or if you are sheltering in place, and plan ahead.
Each city, state region may be unique to certain types of disasters and hazards. Find out what disasters and hazards could the area you’re in or visiting, how to get emergency alerts, and where you would go if you and your family need to evacuate.
Make a Plan
Planning in advance will help ensure that all the members of your household—including children and people with disabilities and others with access and functional needs, as well as outside caregivers—know how to reach each other and where to rendezvous in an emergency.
Build a Kit
Being in a disaster is a heart pounding experience but creating your emergency supply kit isn’t. There are a couple of items that every emergency supply kit should include. These are the basic supplies on hand in order to survive for at least three days if an emergency occurs.
